About Us
The primary objective of the Holy Name Society is to promote love and reverence for the Holy Name of God and Jesus Christ. The secondary objective is to suppress blasphemy, perjury, profanity, improper language and as far as members can, prevent those vices in others. The Society seeks men who will look to promote the objectives of the Holy Name Society that were set over 700 years ago. New members are welcome at every meeting.
Our History
The Holy Name Society began at the Council of Lyons in 1274 when it was prescribed that the faithful should have a special devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus. Pope Gregory X selected the Dominicans to preach the devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus in a letter to Blessed John of Vercelli dated September 20th, 1274. The Dominicans gave their best efforts in preaching the power and glory of the Holy Name of Jesus and to give permanence to the devotion, it was ordained that in every Dominican Church an altar of the Holy Name should be erected and that societies under the title of Holy Name of Jesus should be established.

Monthly meetings are September to June on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm in the school cafeteria. A Corporate Communion Mass is held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm.
