Senior Goal Group

The Senior Goal Group develops ways to further meet the needs of our growing senior population, respecting them and recognizing the continued value of their wisdom and experience.  This is done in the following 3 ways:

1. Senior Spotlight: we gather and submit information to this Sunday bulletin feature, which provides information for our senior citizen community. This includes useful phone numbers, announcements, available services, social events, etc. (Led by Diana Vita Leavy)
2. Senior Companionship: we arrange social visits with seniors and pair volunteers with those in need of company/ conversation with someone.  We also make and deliver small Easter baskets, plants, prayer pamphlets, and cards to the homebound. (Led by Rae Baumeister)
3. Partnering with Parish Youth:  we coordinate with OLH teachers or others working with the younger grades to have children make holiday cards/greeting cards to be given to seniors. (Led by Mary Davide)

The Group meets monthly or every 2 months, as needed. Meetings are held on a Monday evening in the Rectory at 7:45 p.m. If you wish to join this ministry at OLH, please call Linda Helldorfer at 718-898-3222 or Diana at 718-335-2999.

Group Leadership

The Senior Goal Group is  led by Linda Helldorfer and Diana Vita Leavy.  The Parish Council liaisons are Liz LaRocca and Robert Leavy.
