The celebration of Holy Mass is at the heart of the Catholic faith. At Mass we encounter the living God who comes to us in His Word and offers us Himself in the Holy Eucharist. What appears to remain bread and wine becomes the Body and Blood of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Holy Communion is offered to baptized Catholics for the first time following a period of catechesis and preparation. Children preparing to receive Holy Communion will complete a two-year preparation process in either our Catholic Academy or the parish Religious Education Program. The Sacrament is typically offered to children at the end of 2nd grade.
Adult Catholics who were baptized but have not yet received Holy Communion must enroll in the parish
RCIA Program (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). This program is necessary in order to prepare adults to receive Holy Communion by deepening thier personal faith and studying the teachings of our faith. Adults complete thier Christian initiation each year at the Easter Vigil.
