The Sacrament of Baptism is the beginning of the Christian life by which a person receives the forgiveness of sins and becomes a member of the Catholic Church.
Children seven years (7) of age or younger can be presented for Baptism by thier parents or another family member who is committed to raising the child in the Catholic faith. Baptism should not be unduly delayed.
The Sacrament of Baptism for children is celebrated at Our Lady of Hope parish on the
Second Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm and the
Fourth Saturday of the month at 12:00 pm.
Parents seeking Baptism for their child should contact the rectory to set up an appointment with one of the priests or deacons.
First time parents are required to attend a pre-Baptism class before the scheduled baptism.
Godparents must be fully initiated Catholics who actively practice their faith. Prospective godparents must present a sponsor form and a Confirmation certificate prior to the celebration.
Adults seeking Baptism should inquire about
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) with Deacon Paul Norman. The RCIA is a process of study and prayer which assists adults with preparing to enter the Church and receive the Sacraments of Initiation.
